Could have been better
This had potential and it's funny moments, but Addison really needs to make better life choices and stop being so inept.

Sometimes you just need fluff. Perfect murder mystery that is light hearted with love mixed in.

I'm disappointed in this series because I was hoping I'd have a bunch of good books lined up. I don't like Addison Holmes enough.
She's too klutzy, too brash, too everything. She doesn't seem smart enough to be a PI, and I don't get why she's paired with a good cop like Nick.
The J.J. Graves series was much better. A bright, quick-witted woman, at times fragile, but also strong, with so much ability and focus in her work. She has a great relationship with her very best friend. Light years away from Addison and her bungling and desperation.
Oh well, on to another series.

Fast, easy read that was moderately entertaining. Very Evanovich-esque in writing style and plot with a PI wanna-be dating the hot cop.

I think I have found a new author to worship.
I really enjoyed this first book in the Addison Holmes Mystery Series. It has humor, wit, mystery and a bit of hot and heavy.
Addison is a history high school teacher who is looking for a second job to help her get a deposit for a home. On the spare of the moment she thought working as a stripper was a good idea. Well it wasn't, and not for reasons that first come to mind. It might be the dead body she fell over when leaving after being fired on her first attempt.
Nick is a detective who is assigned to the case. He is everything Addison has wished for in a man, but is she what he is looking for? Can they start a relationship that a murder has brought them together? Only time will tell.
Well done Lilliana Hart, I can't wait to start book two.

it's like Stephanie Plum 2.0, that's not to say it wasnt good because I really enjoyed the story and the characters ... it's like SP in the beginning before you were like omg shut up SP and pick a dude! Addison is a high school history teacher down on her luck so she starts as a "junior" PI at her best friend Kate's PI firm. Needless to say being a southern lady Addison's zeal for gossip and new job description get her into a few hot spots. Her sexy cop "boyfriend", neurotic dog loving "bff", and crazy hippy mother make the supporting cast just as lovable as the deranged accident prone Addison.

Free download from amazon and for that I am grateful. I did not finish this book. I made to about 20% and just had to walk away. Life is too short to read a bad book. Addison is a high school teacher who appears to suffer from some type of chronic attention deficit disorder. The writing just didn't capture my attention and I instantly disliked the character. She was too...flighty, scatterbrained for my taste.

If you like Stephanie Plum, you will like this one. There were some laugh out loud moments, some roll your eyes moments, some almost hot lovin moments. All in all I give this one 3.5 stars
