The main character is somewhat cringe worthy but nothing I couldn't forgive. It's Nick who ruined the whole thing. Their scenes completely lacked chemistry and he was not only cringe but, at the risk of sounding overly woke, he was creepy and bordered on the rapist brand of creepy a lot. Seriously their "sex" scenes almost made me sick everything about him was icky. I'm serious if SA/SA adjacent content is a trigger for you do not read this book.

Secondary characters were a lot more interesting than the main character and by the end I was disappointed I didn't get to spend more time with Rose Marie and Addison's mother.

I took a long break from this book so I can’t fully remember what I felt at the beginning. However, I do know that I liked it and that’s good enough for me. Maybe I’ll read it again another time and hopefully without any long gaps in between.

All I can say confidently right now is that this book is really funny and the dynamic between Addison and Nick was amazing. One of the best I’ve seen.

This book was ok but it's too much like the Stephanie Plum books for me.

Addison Holmes was one of the best comedic characters I have read in a long time. I listened to the audiobook, and Connie Ventress outdid herself with the narration.

After Addison as hilarious attempts at helping g her friend Kate out at her PI firm, I could not imagine her being a 9th grade teacher. The great thing about Addison was that she was smart, funny, A loyal friend, and a really nice person. It was the way that she handled adversity that was so humorous.

I thought she and Nick had great chemistry and I enjoyed their back and forth banter. I am looking forward to diving into the next book.

What can I say that hasn't already been said?

Stephanie Plum knock-off? Check.
Funny but too much of a thing can get on your nerves. Check.
Not just accident-prone. How is this chick still alive? Check.

This is good enough to keep reading but nothing that makes me rush to buy the next volume like Evanovich's books did.

I enjoyed reading Whiskey Rebellion and the twist and turns in the story line. I liked Addison and Nick but thought the romance/lust was a little over-the-top and was there purely to tittelate as it didn't appear to advance they story in any meaningful way. I thought that the role played by Addison was refreshing in that she was clumsy but very lucky in her investigations.
