Cute story that is extremely reminiscent of the Stephanie Plum books. But the Plum books are better. I will read this author again but probably won't continue this series.

Whisky Rebellion begins when Addison finds herself down on her luck. She needs a new home, and she's trying to make extra money to get it, even working at a seedy strip club. But on her first and last day, she ends up finding a dead body, and meeting a very hot detective. Now, Addison is trying to figure out what happened to the man she find, and figure out who is stalking her. But things go from bad to worse for her, and she ends up in even more danger then ever.
This book as okay. I liked it, but I felt Addison was a little over the top. So, much over the top that she got annoying after a while. I could only handle her for so long. Other then that the plot line was really interesting, and as Liliana Hart seems so good at, the mystery was awesome! I'm not sure if I will read more in this series, but it was still something interesting to pass the time with.

Quick and easy read, perfect for a long train ride. I would have enjoyed it more had I not already read through several Stephanie Plum novels.

It took me a while to get to like Addison. I can't say that I really like her, but she is growing on me. I have the trilogy, so I will continue through. The story is told in an interesting way.

This book was so much fun! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I felt like Addison wasn't really that involved in the investigation to begin with. She just ended up helping them out more towards the end. But otherwise this book is such a refreshing read! It's quirky, funny and full of nonstop action. There were moments where I was out of breath I was laughing so hard. Addison is definitely one of a kind and her love interest Nick is smoking hot. I can't wait to get my hands on the next novel in this series and have another adventure with Addison Holmes!

Addison Holmes, a high school history teacher, because she needs the extra money decides to become a stripper. But she only lasts for one routine before a murder occurs at her workplace. Fortunately her best friend runs a detective agency and she is employed doing surveillance work.
I did find some funny moments (but also a couple of places needed a better editor) but there were times when Addison's life was just too chaotic, she never seems to think about the consequences of her actions, and maybe there were too many times that her body would hit some object.
But overall I found it an enjoyable story helped by the detective Nick Dempsey, so I shall probably try the next in the series.

I have a couple of relatives who have been declared certifiably crazy, but I never thought until now that it was something that would pass on to me. I mean, it’s not really a big deal. This is the South. In the South we’re all proud of our crazy relatives. We like to put them right out in public so everyone can see them. I just wasn’t quite ready to go on display myself.
I've been reading some series stuff and dealing with all this serious life, so I wanted a lite book. This book was an Amazon freebie I've had for a while and I thought it can take care of some prompts in my reading challenges this year (pink cover, silhouette on the cover, author with more than 20 books, first in a series you haven't started...)
In my mind I was Laura Croft, trapped in Mayberry.
It was ridiculous, could have used some editing, there were some plot issues and weird gaps (for example, what happened to the blind date?), and the story was often unbelievable. But y'all...I haven't laughed out loud that much at a book in a while. It. Was. Hilarious. Addison is a combination of all the worst decisions my friends and family (okay, yeah, and sometimes I) have made.
...a southern lady does not go around town causing scenes and stirring up gossip. A true southern lady can out manipulate General Lee when it comes to revenge. (Addison's mom)
Gotcha. Revenge is good. Gossip is bad. (Addison)
This is really a 3 star book, but I'm rounding up to 4 for the laughs. I would love to see the next book include more of Addison's mom and a lot less of Nick.

This book kind of reminded me ofKristen Ashley's series Rock Chicks and I loved it. The author has her own style though. Addison cracked me up an I can't read wait to read the rest in the series.

I really enjoyed this book. It was a funny, quick, and easy read, but still well written.
