Late one night, two teachers at a famous girl's school investigate a mysterious flashing light in the sports pavilion. There, among the lacrosse sticks, they stumble upon the body of the unpopular games mistress – shot through the heart from point blank range. The school is thrown into chaos when the ‘cat’ strikes again. Unfortunately, schoolgirl Julia Upjohn knows too much. In particular, she knows that without Hercule Poirot’s help, she will be the next victim…

It falls into that category of a ‘sort of’ Poirot novel, you can tells she’s seriously fed up of writing him at this stage so he only appears in the last quarter of the novel. If you look at it as a non Poirot book, I thoroughly enjoyed it, little bit silly in places but I didn’t guess whodunnit!

This was a great read for while I nurse! I had forgotten all about mystery novels until my friend recommended this one. I liked how it wasn’t scary, but the reason it’s 4 stars is because I feel like the author withheld vital information until the end reveal. It would’ve been super cool if we had all the info and THEN the big reveal happened- it’d make it feel like more of a magic trick. But overall very fun read!

Amazing, as always. Obviously didn’t know who had done it until Poirot made it all clear and at one point it was very creepy, which I loved.
