Enjoyable combination of murder mystery and thriller. Hercule Poirot solves the case but only appears quite briefly. The main focus is on the goings on at a very successful girls’ school with a disparate group of female characters. Some clever plot twists, including one I really didn’t see coming, make this a fun read.

Poirot does not show up for A LONG TIME which is a bit of a weakness, but as always, I absolutely cannot resist any kind of school story.

Really hoping that Poirot can beat the record of this book at some point. Said record being that he doesn't show up until 75% into the novel, isn't even mentioned or thought of. I'm getting used to Poirot appearing somewhere loosely around half way (usually a little before) but this was astonishing to see. Anyway, there's a mystery, the solution is kind of goofy, the characters are fun: Christie to a tee.
