Confucius was a funny guy. Unfortunately difficult to tell which are his views and which have been adulterated by disciples. Translator provides useful context information.

As it says in the preface, elegance has given place to accuracy, which in some Chinese to any other western language could be  very weird results.  This is the case.  Good for those able in Chinese reading because its English version is awful.

Kinda boring tbh, perhaps the English translations are inadequate in getting the message across.
