Not what I was expecting (in a good way!!)
Really thought this was gonna be a story about an actual plain Jane getting with a mega ultra rich and famous movie star (and with how she was acting like she was boring and not like other girls i thought i was gonna be a lot more annoyed with her) but I'm actually ok with where it was taken instead!! Hella surprised that they kinda double blindsided me on her being adopted and having Hollywood Royalty blood!
I was genuinely intrigued to follow each and every turn and I think the romance was built up quite naturally. Really itched the scratch of wanting a Hollywood Boyfriend and felt every bit invested in both the plot and the romance!
Although I can't remember specifics, there were a few moments where it pissed me off just a little too much that I kept it as a 4 and not a little higher. I do think Maggie was absolutely off the rails and other side characters didn't have as much depth as they could have but I think that's just me being spoilt with some other books at the moment.
I think the voice actor for Griffin (wild name for one of the allegedly hottest men in Hollywood in my honest and humble opinion) was spot on. Had me blushing. He apparently is the narrator for Powerless on Audible so maybe that's incentive enough to bite the bullet and give that a go.

This book was really funny, dumb, cute, heartfelt, emotional, and emotionally manipulative all at the same time. Weird FMCs are the best!

This is absolutely a fan-girl fantasy, but it doesn’t read like one. You can pick out the elements, but it’s not the focus and I love it. I couldn’t stop listening, and the narrators were perfect. The mysteries kept me guessing and entertained in the best way.
While a little cheesy, it was an uplifting read. Watching people who were scared of the world open up and, instead of resenting each other for the chaos intertwining their lives brought, they were open and faced it bravely. And I think we all wish we could be a little like that.

The audiobook is dual, not duet. But the story was so cute I did not mind.
I typically go for open-door romances, but this door romance was super fun, with some great plot twists that I absolutely loved.
