I was torn between a 4 and a 5. The characters were compelling and heartbreaking, and I loved them all for different reasons. There was some repetition and not a ton of actual plot points, which would be my only complaint. It didn't haunt me the way I should be using a "five star rating" to denote. But very excellent and made me miss my bus stop more than once!

I quite liked this book, I think it manages to make you really care about the characters and that is something that I always value the most in stories. I will say it’s not for everyone though, it’s quite a slice of life kind of story. I also think that Romina’s character wasn’t that well written, she pales in comparison to the writing of other main characters in my opinion. Moreover, whilst I loved Malena as a character, her storyline felt like an afterthought. The fact that it was all just laid out in front of you and completed in one chapter, it just felt a bit rushed.

I loved the other main characters though (and Malena too) but I always wished it would go a bit more in depth into their arcs. Just a smidge. In a way I feel as though perhaps this could have 5 star potential if it focused on a tad lesser amount of MCs but cultivated their storylines with a bit more thoroughness.
