It was a good book, interesting story but I feel like for the 50th book there would be something more impressive with the story.
There was no major crime, no angst with Eve and Roarke or anything other then a simple murder mystery that was easy to figure out who done it.
It was ok.

As always, I absolutely loved this but I have to say, I expected something a little more out there and dramatic from the series' 50th instalment. It won't be one of the more memorable books in the series but it was enjoyable all the same.

RATINGS: 3.5 STARS
The case in Golden in Death wasn't my favourite. There also wasn't as much personal interaction in this one between all the characters. However, Robb still made me love this one. I am ready for the new book in September.

Wow! It is difficult to believe that this series is longer than 50 books and still going strong.
While the more recent books have been solid mysteries albeit nothing to write home about, Golden in Death is reminiscent of the first few books in the series with a gripping story, a truly nasty villain, and characters to truly care about.
Yes, the familiar cast of Eve, Roarke, Summerset, Peabody, and company have become a little humdrum. However, as a plot-driven reader, this does not bother me because the investigation is intense and suspenseful. The symbolism and idioms surrounding the use of the word "gold" add another delightful layer of enjoyment to the narrative.
Overall, it is always fun to read another In Death book, but this one has that added something that make the series worthwhile.

This is most likely my favourite couple’s story in fiction. 50+ books and Roarke and Dallas are goals.
