Ever since I read The Steadfast Love Series a few years back, I have wanted more. More about the characters that captured my heart in those three books. And after Letters Home I had to know the answer to the question, did Anna get Margried’s letters??
Follow the Dawn was everything I hoped for, only better. I cried. I laughed. And in the end, I felt such joy for Anna.
This may be my favorite of Rachelle’s books yet. Now, I’m hoping that someday, Millicent’s story and redemption will be told too.

This was actually a juvenile romance, but since it was actually written for young adults and was well-written, I gave it a 4.

Anna's timidity drew me to her immediately. Her struggle to breathe when overcome with anxiety made me hold my breath. But then, I watched as she took a deep breath, put on courage, and faced her fears.
With a touch of history, a delightful sprinkling of romance, and a recurring theme of the Fatherhood of God, Follow the Dawn will be enjoyed by fans of George MacDonald, Michael Philips, and Judith Pella, to name a few.

This was the first book I’ve read by this author. I didn’t find out until the end that there were other stories in this “series” but that was okay. This book is just fine as a stand alone.
I don’t usually read many books set in this time period, but I really enjoyed this one. It brought back to mind the biographies I had read years ago.
Each characters became alive as I read. Everyone from the adults to the little ones were living in this story. I felt for Anna and wanted to help her, but was glad she had others who stepped in since I couldn’t. Tudder was someone I liked right away even if he was a bit rough at first. I could understand him and feel his struggle. I really liked the relationship between the couples in this story, and the pictures of what a godly father looks like
There were a few times when I got confused about where something happened because the movement to a new place was not really clear, but that only happened a few times.
This is clearly a Christian story and it was clean. There is some verbal abuse in it, but not much.
I would recommend this and look forward to reading another book by this author.
