I love it so much!! Such a good fairytale and finding out who you really are!! I love the message that you can be extraordinary even if everyone else thinks you are ordinary!! ❤️

My initial thought when flipping through this book before reading it was "jesus, they should've hired someone who knew how to draw faces", but once I started reading it I understood their artistic decision - I can't say I loved it (honestly, I found the soulless eyes a tad disturbing), but I understand it.
At the end, Anderson mentions that this project was initially a pitch for an animated series, and I can totally see it, though I think it'd make a better movie than a series. She definitely achieved her goal of capturing "the nostalgia of watching a princess movie".

An adorable fairy tale like story of finding who you are and of taking your destiny into your own hands. I really enjoyed this and smiled the whole time I was reading it. The artwork is fantastic and the characters were overall endearing. I wish there were more volumes and adventures in this world!

I wish I liked this short graphic novel more! I found Basil whiny and the story didn’t feel particularly original. The art is very sweet and I get the intended message, but I would have loved to see more characters that felt sincere and empathetic. So many of them felt a bit rushed to me. That being said, I know I’ll have a ton of students that do enjoy reading this.
Throughly enjoyed the characters and the way their expressions were illustrated.
