Humans Acts was an eye-opening account of a time in Korean history I knew nothing about. Kang grounds the brutality of the uprising in the lives of everyday people, connecting their stories across 20 years to show how the pain has reverberated. She writes inclusively and with compassion by providing a different and unique perspective of the uprising in each chapter.
