This book was intense. I never read the actual book but thought the graphic novel was a good way to get into it. However the storyline did not hold and it was hard to get into the mind of the main character- just fell short

The original novel Speak was a novel I read many years ago - and it always stayed with me because of how powerful it was. And when I finally found out that a graphic novel edition was released, I didn't hesitate at all to buy it immediately. Because I knew that it would translate well into this new form. Though I would definitely still recommend reading the original novel first - the graphic novel edition is a beautiful and ultimately, empowering, story.
