Great new story from one of my favorite authors.
I enjoyed the two storylines, and in general I didn't want to put this book down. Looking forward to additional books in the series.
I did not know what to expect when I chose this book at random, but I was certainly not disappointed!
Mythical gods crossed with teenage angst? Not your typical read, but the story is compelling and the jumping character narrative leaves you wanting more.

Fun, fun, fun. Orson Scott Card is a storymage.
Read most notably while walking out of Schmilson at night, and while eating in my 1st year dorm room.

Interesting magical concepts. It started pretty slow and it took a while for things to make sense. Also, what’s with all the weird sexual themes? Isn’t this like a kids book? Anyway, I’ll read the next book and see where the story goes. I don’t think I’ll ever reread this one, though.
I enjoy Orson Scott Card about 50% of the time. I love ender's game and ender's shadow. This one was good, but felt a little like more of the same. The premis is totally different from the ender's game series but it still involved a child that has to make it on his own cut off from his parents. I found some of the violence - while not descriptive a little disturbing. It was an OK quick read, but not anything I want to buy.
