OH MY GOODNESS, that was amazing! I recommend this book to everyone who loves fantasy books!

And I just couldn't help myself I had to finish this book and it doesn't come out in the UK until October well all I can say this spin-off trilogy is a gem and I have a few characters I'm rooting for well mainly Maddox and of course Crystal and maybe Becca too yes I'm counting her as well she does have a minor role in this book but damn it she is important and by the way I'm still unswayed about Farrell he's probably an anti-hero possibly hard to tell at this point but heck this book has made to my favorites list because it was brilliant and I had a hard time putting down and the fact that I was always on edge everytime a chapter ended.

A good read and I look forward book two and I also recommend reading the Falling Kingdoms books as well.

A Book of Spirits and Thieves by Morgan Rhodes is the first novel in a spinoff series and revolves around modern day Toronto in Canada and old fashioned Mytica. I can't even begin to say how much I love Morgan Rhodes's books and her style of writing! The descriptions are evidently well written and their is so much action and so much goodness to this novel. I love the FALLING KINGDOMS series especially since I've read all four books and have enjoyed the journey that each character has been on so far. I really want my hands on the last two books then I can sleep happy. This novel really got me excited because I knew this book was going to be a fab read like the other novels in the Falling Kingdom series. So much happens in so little time and I just love it. Morgan Rhodes is probably and currently at the top of my list for best authors in Young Adult Fiction. You rock Morgan! Cannot wait for the other books in both series to come! MAGNUS AND CLEO. <3 <3 FOREVER MY OTP.

I had so much fun reading this book. In fact, I read it in one day, that's how much I loved it. Now, I have to wait a WHOLE YEAR for the next book :(

5 stars. I LOVED THIS. IT.IS.AMAZING. A Book of Spirits and Thieves is definitely one of my favorite books of the year! Heck, I’m more excited for its sequel than I am for Frozen Tides! (Don’t get me wrong, though – I’m still ridiculously excited for that, too.) There was just something about this particular story that really gripped and fascinated me. The alternate time periods probably has something to do with it! I loved going back and forth between the worlds, and I didn’t tire of anyone’s viewpoint! I loved every single one of these characters! This story was such a ride, and there were so many times I completely forgot my surroundings and got so caught up in the story, I remember thinking “YES! I’ve been waiting for a book like this!” Now that I’m finally out of my ridiculously long reading slump, I’ve been enjoying books even more so than usual! But now I’m struggling with deciding what to read because THERE’S SO MUCH TO CHOOSE FROM

The plot of this book just blew me away. I love time/world travel, and Morgan Rhodes handled it so well. It’s been too long since I’ve read a book like this! (I think A Thousand Pieces of You was the last one…and I’m DYING to read Ten Thousand Skies Above You but everyone has it on hold at the library #bitter) I will say that I got confused at times (what’s new), but I think it’s because I was so excited and anticipated every page turn, so I probably read too fast to absorb all the information.

The characters were just great. Farrel is such a problematic fave. Like, I have so many issues with him, I want to grab him by his shoulders and shake some sense into him, but at the same time I’m still invested in his story and rooting for him? I just hope he realizes his wrong and empathizes with his brother more! Though I was bothered by his almost instant attraction to Crys. Maddox is definitely my favorite. I loved his chapters and point of view so much. Thankfully, the romance between him and Becca felt more real to me! It still happened fairly fast, but given the odd circumstances, I found it to be very believable. I did like Crys, though not as much as the other two main characters. They seemed more complex to me! I can’t wait to see how they all develop in future books!

So…The Darkest Magic comes out in June. Can I time travel and read it now?

THIS BOOK IS INDESCRIBABLY GOODDD

It was really hard for me to get into this.too many characters

omg! the ending! just end just like that!

Great characters and an intriguing pull with each of them. The plot, however, took a little while to get off the ground.

I actually did enjoy this. I've only read the first "Falling Kingdoms" book, so I was a tad worried about whether or not I'd actually need to have finished it prior to this, but I'm happy to report you don't need to have the previous series! I'm sure there are little connections that I'm missing, but I understood everything well enough.

I loved the combination of fantasy and reality and I definitely enjoyed the characters in this one.

Man, there were a few that I hated and that I didn't want to stick around but I do understand their purpose and I enjoyed everything and everyone as it came together.
