Very sad to say this wasn’t for not for me. As a a fan of A Man Called Ove, I prepared myself for that level of character development, emotion, and humor. This book left me with a lot of questions about the characters and situations. Not a bad book, but not one for me.

A book I stumbled into while half asleep and with few other options, but one I'll always be glad I did. Struck me with an unexpected depth amidst a--somehow--playful, witty, even lighthearted tone. Superb character development. Creatively genius (genius-ly creative?) narration. Left me laughing. Left me weeping. Highly recommend!

I couldn’t get here fast enough to give this one five stars. It felt chaotic but just the right amount—chaotic good. Every character was charming in some way and I laughed out loud several times.

writing is absolutely amazing, but i think some parts were confusing only because when there is so many characters to distinguish from, and only had very distinguishable stories and features towards the end, so i will have to re-read at some point. some characters had similar traits which took me out of the book a bit. but honestly the prose is always spectacular from fredrik backman, and a lot of moments were very teachable and heartfelt and i loved them. related maybe a little too much
