These characters are so incredibly obnoxious. I didn’t care about any of them and the plot was repetitive and unrealistic. I was thankful to be done.

I like to summarize Backman’s writing style as “cross generational life lessons.” He’s really good at showing perspective from a variety of different viewpoints, and makes you really empathize with characters over them. This is no exception. It was charming, funny, and really tender-hearted.
