At first I found the writing style a bit chaotic and hard to follow. However, I ended up loving this. I thought it was very cleverly done and the deeper message about how we all carry our own stories and anxieties was intertwined with the events of the book. I loved how thought provoking about how some of the characters had met before and didn't know it, they were all connected in some way to each other from events and chance meetings. Makes you think about your own life and interactions with strangers.

I picked up this book because two of my celebrity crushes are in the upcoming movie adaptation, so naturally I had to read it first and try to guess who they’d play. The story is told in a way that reminded me of how my husband says I tell stories. Scattered, full of detail (sometimes unnecessary), with plenty of commentary (often not needed to understand the story), and I loved every minute of it.
As an anxious person myself, I felt so seen by each of the characters. I often have people telling me to relax and wonder how everyone else manages to do that so easily it seems. Reading about the characters’ lives, their worries and anxieties, and the way they loved and lived through it all was both validating and comforting.
