I'm on the fence with how I feel about BLOOD ROSE REBELLION. On one hand, I enjoyed the overall storyline, but I was also incredibly bored at many points in the book which took away my overall enjoyment.
What I liked: I liked Anna—for the most part. I loved the world that the story takes place in. It felt well thought out and real. I liked learning about the Luminate society and watching Anna navigate her way through it.
What I disliked: The pace was incredibly sloooooow. Like put me to sleep, have to skip paragraphs slow. Although I liked Anna overall, she did a lot of dumb things that led to most of her problems. It got to the point that it was hard to feel sorry for her when what she did blew up in her face. None of the other characters really grabbed my attention. The romance was utterly bland. I would have rather it just been left out altogether.
SO, yeah. There were probably more disliked that likes, but I still read it all the way through, so that is something. I probably won't read book two, but I'm not mad at myself for reading BLOOD ROSE REBELLION.

OMG this book was amazing! I have never read a book like it before, and I am so excited for the next book to come out, even though it won't be for another year :D
3.5 i feel like yeah it was solid but nothing toooo exciting
More of a 3.5. Full review to come on Lisa Loves Literature soon!
I had no idea what this book was about before I started it. I'm really glad I read this one though. It was fascinating seeing a piece of history that I've never seen before. It was even more interesting due to the liberties Eves too with the fantastical elements. This book is fascinating. It's not my favorite, but I'm eager to see what Rosalyn Eves has up her sleeve next. This book does some very interesting fantasy things. I was intrigued by the way magic was handled within this book and can't wait to see what book two does with it.

This book was just alright, nothing special. It didn't really grab my attention all that much. I'm not a particular fan of Victorian stuff so that might be part of it. Also the magic was weird, not my favorite.
Overall I would give it 3/5 for being "just ok" but minus 1 star for cousin kissing, that is just gross and wrong and added nothing to the story. So 2/5 there it is.

This book had so much potential. Except it didn’t reach its potential, 118 pages in the main character kisses 3 guys… and it just drags on and on. There wasn’t much action till the end when Anna actually broke the Binding and the resolution after breaking the Binding and all the destruction was non existent.
