While conceptually fascinating, I feel like The Man in the High Castle spreads its contents over too many characters without weaving their stories together as strongly as I would have liked. That said, I do think that the cultural concepts and cultural awareness in this novel are very nicely displayed by means of its characters and in particular by the interactions they have with one another. The meta-fictional aspect was also quite fascinating, as was the presence of the I Ching. Took me a while to read, but it was definitely interesting to be presented with socio-cultural phenomena that might be alien to the reader in such a natural, matter-of-fact manner.

Super interesting book, nothing like I expected. I found it a little bit hard to follow all the names and the characters and some characters I'm not sure what exact purpose they served, but a very enjoyable read overall
