Guilty pleasure reading. This e series captures more of the books than Sweet Valley Confidential. Skip that one and read these.

Oh wow.

I read Sweet Valley Confidential a while back and it was pretty terrible. And then I found out about the Sweet Life e-serial and for some reason I decided to pay Francine Pascal for her efforts to rape and pillage my childhood memories.

My biggest concern is that Francine Pascal thinks people actually talk like this, in conversations peppered with "like" and "so totally" and, worst of all, "like so totally." I'd be afraid to have a conversation with her, honestly, lest I kick her in the teeth.

Anyway, The Sweet Life is really more of the same as in SVC, with a completely lack of continuity and the sinking feeling that Pascal never actually read a single Sweet Valley book. So "it was ok" is the best I can give this book, but I am like so totally going to read the rest of them because this one was the very definition of brain candy and I like that, sometimes.

Perhaps appropriately for a review on a Francine Pascal book, I'm gonna cheat and review The Sweet Life books 1-6 together all on book 1. Goodreads doesn't have an edition with all six together and I'm way too lazy to individually review each pile of flaming dog shit. This is five stars for being such an amazing fun, horrible, dramatic, horrible, exciting, horrible ride through Sweet Valley. But they are five very angry stars as the ending fucking sucked. Five very angry, very tired stars as I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish this and then stayed up really far past my bedtime as I searched every dark corner of the internet trying to figure out if the series really did end that way or I had missed another book. And nope, as my tired fingers finally pushed the power button on my Nook, I realized that the ending really did just fucking suck that much.

Everybody had a happy ending except for Elizabeth because she fucking took the moral high-ground again and Bruce fell in love with Easy Annie. But honestly, that's okay because Bruce is a dirty rapist even if one time he didn't really do it.
