I received a free ALC from the author in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This book takes place roughly 20 years after the events of Raging Rival Hearts. It focuses on Cat & Ace's daughter, Amara, and Faith's son, Remo. They're all grown up and they hate each other. But when they're stuck with each other in a prison where their magic doesn't work, they'll have to trust and rely on each other.

I don't know, I think this series peaked for me at Rowan Wood Legends. While I did like Amara and Remo, all of their interactions and eventual romance was just very predictable. I missed Cat, she is my favorite after all. There is nothing that's wrong with this book per se, I was just very bored. Nothing really drew me in like the original trilogy did. Also, prison stories are boring to me, so eh. I wish Amara and Remo would've had to learn to like each other through some sort of political match competition or something. I have no idea, but I missed the magic especially since Amara is incredibly overpowered and is super special.

I do like Wildenstein's writing and worldbuilding (minus the fact that everyone is straight, bleh). But I felt like we were teased with Neverra throughout the series, to only get here and barely see any of it? I would've loved to see more of the Daneelies in Nevarre and like how all of that conflict is going/being settled. I guess my main complaint is that I like fantasy with magic, and it was taken away since the main setting is this supernatural prison.

We do get some awesome cameos from characters from the rest of the series and we do see a bit of them in the beginning and at the end. I did like the twist with
Cruz not being dead like we thought he was at the end of Raging Rival Hearts.

Wow, wow, wow, Olivia has done it again! This new generation of fae will have you falling in love with Neverra all over again. I just adored Remo and Amara! Their flaws, their chemistry, their recklessness(!) and their sense of duty made for an incredible ride. Throw all of that into a terrifyingly fast paced prison world full of twists and unexpected surprises and you will not want to put this book down.

After all, when you're surrounded by epic love stories, who can blame Amara for wanting her own?! And after that last chapter I am seriously hoping Olivia portals us back into Neverra for one final HEA

Needs trigger warnings, but I finished this book with a smile on my face. I instantly wanted to go back to this world and read more, but I seemed to have ran through all five books in a matter of days.
