I think that i misjudged this book. I picked it apart like i had no appetite and someone put baby food in front of me. and that wasn’t fair.
yes, it did move a little slower than i would’ve liked, but by the middle of the book i understood why.
i have and always will be a ginormous sucker for found family and connection especially with lgbtq characters, and i think that this is one of few stories that felt authentic.
it’s one thing to write a story about a trans kid in the face of persecution and erasure, and it another to write it without any shame and with commitment to the characters.
page powars did the latter, and my little trans heart was jumping for joy.

cheesy, adorable, lighthearted romance with a little sprinkle of insecurities and misunderstandings
I will admit, I was not the target audience for this. It was a sweet story but a tad unrealistic, and the MC’s insecurities were at times overly cringey and I just needed more. This is a cute little young adult story tho
