Jasper drove me insane for the majority of the book. However, his overly dramatic freak out about knowing who Charlie really is was entertaining and I enjoyed that version of Jasper…the overly dramatic with a good heart Jasper.  I also am a sucker for an academia setting and am always here for trans representation 💜

Really good story about a guy (Charlie) who recently transitioned and starts attending an all-boys school, only to fond out he's roomed with a boy he met/kissed at summer camp two years ago (Jasper).

The way I found to get enjoyment out of this book is to just not take anything seriously and go with it.  A campy story that features over the top characters in a ridiculous academic setting.  Everything feels extremely dramatic, but when looked at through a YA lens, it kind of works here.

Charlie was a difficult character for me to root for, and his romantic arc didn’t really add up to anything for me.
