this book stared into my soul, slapped me across the face, called me a bitch, and spit on me

and I loved every second of it

for the love of god this book was everything I have ever wanted. slight enemies to lovers/grumpy x sunshine but not even being grumpy sunshine because Juliet is just a type a teacher GOD FUCK ME UP.

listen. LISTEN. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS. the second I started reading it I was like “yeah this author HAS to be a teacher” because she GOT IT. SHE GOT IT. So I was very pleased to see that she actually is. Everything in this book was so incredibly accurate in terms of their “teacher lives”. The successes, the struggles, the moments of defeat, and the absolute giddiness when you realize you have made a positive impact on a student fucking GOT. ME. AND GOD THE CHARACTERS. i loved them. I loved them so fucking much. I loved the way the relationship built. I loved all of the side characters. I loved how we actually got to see both of them come to accept things about themselves and each other

AND THE BIGGER MOMENTS? ALL OF THR FOSTERING STUFF? UGHGHG

GOD FUCK. i wanna read this book again.

- just realized it’s only 30% in and lots have happened but I’ve also not really realized it cuz I was immersed. I like reading books like that
- it’s cute that they have a crush. Makes me think if any of my teachers back in the day were like this
- definitely hot
- hmmm a a stabbing seems a bit excessive for this kind of book but ok
- I’m glad she realized that she doesn’t want to lose Sam over this
- ok cute cute. I’m glad everyone got a happy ending

I found this book from the Author’s TikTok showing up on my FYP. I am a sucker for TikToks of book quotes.

This was super cute. Great main characters, and also great side characters.
I loved that it was dual POV, had good spice and a lot of heart. Lots of “awww

rounding this up to a 4.5!!! i LOVED THIS!! i didn’t really think anything special of this book when i started i thought it was just gonna be a quick fun cute little read, i was fully unprepared for how obsessed i was going to be — like i was fully sobbing at more than one part (not a shock but still important to note)
first of all it’s just so much fun i was immediately hooked and having a great time reading this, especially with the banter between juliet and sam!! (the sam and juliet “feud” did have me nervy at the start i saw a lot of hope in sam but feared he was going to be a little too immature and irritating at first lol, no worries i’m in love w him now)
it was also just so wholesome i am such a sucker for found family and both sam and mason’s stories made my heart feel so sad, but then really really full. i just LOVED the way juliet and sam found safe spaces within each other and how much they loved and HOW they loved. ugh everything was just perfection. love love love love loved!!!

A single-sitting read. A-la-PBS: this book was to you by viewers like you (aka friends who recommended this to me) thank you. While the storyline was very cute I often found myself wondering “is this an HR violation??” Although very happy the story took the turns it did. Would tell someone else to read if they’re interested, but nothing out of this world

Spice:

This has been on my TBR for a long time and I loved it!
