Agatha, Millie, and Kennedy’s lives intersect in unexpected ways at residence life at the University of Arkansas (2017). Agatha is a creative writing professor, Millie is a 24-year old RA, and Kennedy is a transfer student. Agatha connects with Millie when researching wedding culture, and winds up being fascinated by the way wealthy young women in her dorm talk about money and race, changing her ideas of what to research. This book has rich conversations and intricate character development. I liked how a professor and two students had so much in common and how many similarities were in their back stories. Lots of commentary on social dynamics, politics, feminism, wealth, race, and sexuality (with a southern lens).
