I bought Nine Lives as a Christmas gift for a daughter who has enjoyed Agatha Christie, and before I wrapped it I sat down to read a few pages just to get a feel for it...and I kept reading. I didn't want to send it off until I knew whodunit, so luckily I finished Christmas Eve day.
I enjoyed the writing and the mystery. A very pleasant couple of afternoons in front of my TV fireplace while snowed in.

A really interesting thriller with such a shocking end ! I though I knew the ending but I only knew half of it and omg was it good. Kind of gives final destination but commited by a person vibes. I really enjoyed it and recommend it.

The author is a little heavy-handed at times, but the mystery is challenging, and there is a good plot twist at the end.
This was good. I like the concept a lot, and liked the (mild) suspense in the lead up to everyone's deaths. However, certain details didn't make a lot of sense (why didn't Jessica - FBI agent - have security detail, when most of the others did; they could have set up a trap to catch the killer). I didn't see the ending/the killer coming. But once it was explained, other details from the book made sense. The epilogue didn't quite make sense, but it was a fine way to wrap things up.

A lot of characters to follow which made it confusing. I kept falling asleep when I read it so I missed a lot because I couldn’t remember where I was lol
It was a good thriller and was surprised by the ending

I was conflicted over this one since I liked the writing style and was interested in how the plot played out, but i struggled to connect to any of the characters. also i guessed most of the twist which means either i’m getting good at this or it wasn’t super unpredictable.
3.5/5 ⭐️ Docked at least a quarter point for the ending.

Excellent! Nine people receive a letter in the post which basically consists of a list of the names of those nine people and other than their own, they have never heard of any of them. The people on the list then begin to be murdered, one by one to the point where the remaining ones are put under police protection, but that isn’t enough to spare them their fate.
The tension is immense during the story as we’re very aware, as are the victims of what might come next but we do not know yet the reasons or what the connections are.
There are parallels with a very famous Agatha Christie book which the plot mentions which very much feels like homage rather than a copy, besides there are other levels to this story which twists it away from the original as the details emerge.
Very enjoyable and cleverly written, I’d recommend this.
