Fairly good book. Ill probably read the rest of the series if I can borrow them from my friend. Pretty good storyline, if a little bland for my tastes.

I liked it. Mostly. The few things I didn't like are things that bothered me through the story. Mostly it was timeline stuff. Inconsistencies that made me stop and think. But other than that it was pretty dang good.

TBR Challenge 2011- June Category: Contemporary. This book has been on my goodreads list since February 2010.

3.5* rounded down for goodreads.
Hard to Hold is a good military (SEAL) romantic suspense novel, although it doesn't break any new ground. The lead (and his two "brothers" who are the stars of their own books in this trilogy) are a bit "too" everything-- too strong, too fast, too tortured, too reckless, too handsome, etc. In fact, all the characters in this book are too angst-ridden. There was no normal to be found.

That said, the story was compelling and Tyler doles out the backstory in small tantalizing bits, insuring the reader keeps reading to fill in all the missing pieces.

Recommended for lovers of gritty, strong (but not mean) heroes and heroines with some backbone.

This was a little more intense than I was expecting and since I was not prepared for it I was surprised, and not in a good way. The writing was good and I really liked Jake, but the topic distressed me. I am curious about Nick and Chris so I will probably continue with the series, but I will not be immediately running out to get the next book.

My first book by Stephanie Tyler and quite a good one. Probably not my last one, too.

Although, I'm not a great fan of love at the first sight stories, this one was rather interesting. The characters were likeable and the relationship between them didn't hinder me but I would prefer it to be more developed. I also enjoyed the secondary romance, if you can call it like that, between
Clutch and Sarah
. And I absolutely adore the way the family ties between the brothers were constructed.

I also liked the suspense part or I should rather call it the threat part. The reason for so was a bit too predictable but it give some action and a nice background story.

And Stephanie Tyler is definitely getting the biggest prize for the most tortured heroes and heroines. There is no single one character in this book whose life wasn't violated or complicated in some way. Even the secondary characters are stricken with some dreadful past. Don't even mention, the villain.

All the three books in this series had something promising. But writing style, editing and character development (lack of) had stopped me from rating more than 2 to 3 stars.
