This was one heck of a gripping story! The first book I read by her was “the drowning” and I couldn’t put it down! The next book was “the falling” which was good, but not as much as the first. This book though…. Wow! It definitely made a comeback after that last one.
I actually found myself tearing up at the end as well. I was able to put myself in their position as a mother/friend and it tub at me in all different ways.
I love T.J Newmans’ books!

3.5! Honestly, I had a REALLY hard time focusing on this audiobook. I even completely started it over when I was at 60% because I had no clue what was happening! Even listening again I don’t feel like I got everything out of it. 🥴 I don’t know what my issue was because I listened to her other two books and didn’t struggle at all.

I think part of it was that there were so many characters they all ran together. I didn’t feel as connected to them as her other books. Also, each one has grown more technically intense, and my brain has a bit of trouble keeping up with all the science/technology of something like a nuclear power issue. I had trouble visualizing a lot of it (I still don’t understand sluice gates, lol!).

I still have to give it 4 stars because I think these are all “me” problems. If you like high stakes, science-minded, tightly plotted thriller/action novels that still pull at your heart strings, this is perfect. It’s obviously well researched and I will continue to read all of her books. I’m a little bummed to be caught up!

There were too many characters to follow at times, it made it confusing while trying to listen along. The topic also might’ve been a bit over my head, since I’m not familiar with nuclear disasters, but I was able to follow along for the most part.

I hadn't heard any warnings for HSPs on this book but it was just too much for me. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised. It was just a lot.

T.J. Newman has done it again! Wow I am in awe during and after reading every one of her novels. Her unique perspective of being a flight attendant has brought such clarity, eye opening terror and realistic adrenaline filled scenarios to mind. I throughly enjoy and fly through all of her books including this one. I thought it was so interesting to see the POVs from many characters and the many situations going on throughout the community while everyone deals with disaster in their own way. It was scary, heart pounding, mind racing, humbling, informative, devastating and heart warming all at once. Absolutely loved this book and would recommend it to anyone.

This book had me stressed the entire time & after I finished it I had to utilize my emotional regulation skills so I wouldn't end up sobbing. This book was the closest yet to making me cry & I'd say that's worth 5 stars all on it's own.

Are you looking for a fast-paced action-packed book about a commercial airliner that crashes into a nuclear power plant? Was that too specific 🤣. Worst Case Scenario offers a plot that moves quickly and characters to care for and hope. The author has clearly done her research in her latest flight related disaster book.

I read the second half of the book in one sitting (rare, because I read quite slowly). While the chance of this happening is a very rare event, it now seems not impossible which is very scary. Stepping through each of the decisions and looking at the wider effects on the community and world, was quite fascinating.

I still have Falling on my shelf to read and really enjoyed Drowning. What will @tj_author come up with next!
