This was a read that I kind of skimmed through but read enough to understand the whole book. I saw this movie a LONG time ago and was suddenly interested in reading the book, so I did. I got bored a few times but I loved reading how the mother was turning into such a selfish douchebag, like holy crap. She turned into such a B*TCH.
I didn’t think it was as creepy as some people say, but maybe I went in there expecting weirdness.

I've been seeing this one pop up in adult book groups, and I'm wondering why, in an adult FB group, it's being thrown around so much. I read this years after it came out, and for reference, I was born in 1975. I was probably around 10-12 years old then. So obviously, I had to re-read/listen, and it definitely makes me think a lot of the things I read between ages 9-14 were probably not "appropriate"?
Anyways, I guess back then I didn't mind "cliffhangers" and I am clearly getting ready to read the next one (when it's available on Libby).

ok, so... this is a silly thing to ponder, but I haven't been able to rate this book for a long time now... so I've decided that I'm going to wait.... until I'm old enough that life has given me all the good and bad it has to offer, waiting to become a wiser and more experienced person, and then I'll hopefully be able to determine if this book, which blew my mind to shreds at the same time that made me unable to stop caring/reading, and forced me to ignore my quiet existence here on goodreads to dare to write this review, deserves either 1 or 5 stars.
