wow. just wow. this was my first fantasy ever and wow i was so hesitant on reading a fantasy but this was an amazing starter!!!! I am left with so many questions and emotions. such a good read!!! i need this to be a movie!

Honestly, I didn't expect to like this. Romance is really not my thing, and don't get me wrong, I did find some of this romance cringey (just my personal opinion! I really don't like romance!). But the building of a fairly complicated world is wonderful and uncomplicated to the reader, and the characters have amazing depth. The story really came second to the characters and their relationships, which is fine, but you don't really become invested or pay attention to it until the very end, when it suddenly becomes super important. Though I didn't LOVE the romance of it all, it does make sense because of the amount of detail put into building the relationship. Overall, really not bad. 3.5 stars.
