Tenía expectativas con esta novela y la verdad es que me ha quedado a deber. Es una historia juvenil, de fantasía y romance muy tierna. Me gustó la subtrama: guerra entre dioses. Es un buen intento al crear el mundo de fantasía, sin embargo es todo lo que se nos muestra de ese mundo. La prosa está bien construida, es un punto a favor. La novela no me generó mucho al leerla, aunque la trama se desarrolla en medio de una guerra, todo se queda a medias, no hay pasión, no hay sangre.

This book caught me by surprise! I have seen it all over social media and I always get worried about the overhype. But this book delivered. Rebecca Ross’ writing is so stunning and interesting. This books reads as historical fiction with just a touch of fantasy. It took a bit for me to get get into it since it’s not my usual style I gravitate to but it was worth the stick out.
The relationships between the main characters (I don’t want to spoil!) is just so heartfelt and emotional that you just feel like your feeling everything they are. Your feeling all of their emotions and reactions so deeply. Iris is known for writing beautifully but the entire book reads that way.
I cried MULTIPLE times, that’s not easy to get me to do (less than 10 makes have made me cry). All the feels…all the feels.
The plot is intriguing, there were times I could not read fast enough. I didn’t want this to end!! If it’s in your TBR…bump it up to the top. I can’t wait for the sequel!

Un libro precioso con una escritura preciosa. Lo que más me fascino fue toda la historia del mundo mágico, empecé a leer a ciegas y sin expectativas en cuanto a esa parte y me lleve una grata sorpresa.
Según ibas leyendo se sentía todo tan precioso, emocional y vulnerable, como si la historia fuese de cristal. Y el romance no se queda atrás, podía reconfortarte al mismo tiempo que te angustiaba.
Iris me pareció una protagonista encantadora, te veías reflejado en ella y en su miedo a arriesgarse, conectabas tanto que te sentías orgulloso al ver como lo superaba y se volvía incluso más valiente de lo que ya era.
Y Kitt, al principio es más aprensivo para a abrirse, pero en cuanto lo hace su sensibilidad te conmueve. Se enamora tanto de Iris que relee sus cartas cada noche, la ayuda a superarse y sabe exactamente lo que necesita en cualquier momento.
Y sus cartas, hay algo sobre escribir tus pensamientos y sentimientos más profundos, conocer a la otra persona del mismo modo sin siquiera verlo. Sin juzgarte, sabiendo que no estás solo, que hay alguien al otro lado leyendo. Llegamos a sentir sus emociones con ellos.
