This book has destroyed me. Somehow I am heartbroken, in love and feel empty at the same time. I am utterly consumed by this book. It has my heart in every way possible and it’s so beautifully written!

Was a fun read. I liked the characters, kinda wish they were a bit older? I liked the plot, felt refreshing, but seemed to lack the details and world building I crave from a fantasy. Still looking forward to book 2

Wow..... when a book becomes a love letter to written word and somehow lives up to the writing level one would expect for a book to hit this calibre of a goal, it becomes a beautiful moment in which i'm compelled to truly take in the beauty and privilege we have to be able to experience the wonders of books. I loved the fact that you felt every moment these characters learned a kernel of truth from the other person that was pushing them towards what we know as the inevitability of them falling in love with each other. I loved the way in which the lore of the world was imparted to us and even more so, how I wasn't truly detesting dacre and what he stood for and how much thats a reflection of war realistically - each side always think they're the right side. I'm so excited to see more of Roman and Iris in the next book and I hope to be just as blown away. <3
