This is one of those books that I knew I would love right away. It’s got the something special fantasy element. I definitely plan on continuing the series.

I don't think I do well with first person POV fantasy novels. I couldn't keep up with most of what was going on and it was almost too fantastical at points. The cover is gorgeous, but the book was just ok.

This was everything I want in a Middle Grade fantasy! The characters, the plot, the pacing, the ending. I just want to hug this book! And hug Rosie!!!

Great middle grade book.  The relationship with the mom was very sad, but ultimately, a great ending and a wonderful world.  Can't wait to read more.

This book was written for a late elementary, early middle school audience. The story was engaging and the world-building was interesting. I feel sad about the dwindling friendship between the protagonist and her best friend. Maybe all adults can mourn the loss of that special relationship of childhood which becomes lost in puberty. Maybe some adults have retained it. I would read the next book in the series, but am not dying to do so.

I was so excited to get my hands on The Memory Thief!

I LOVED it for so many reasons, and here are a few:

1. The cover art! I can't help it—I love beautiful art!
2. The mc, Rosie, loves books!
3. Witches!
4. Ghosts!
5. A BFF :)
6. Two girls navigating real life and how their friendship is changing.
7. I know I already said ghosts, but they're on the list again because there are more ghosts, and you're going to love the variety!
8. The kids must solve the problem!!!
9. Danger, adventure, mayhem, storms, secrets!!! And more!

I think The Memory Thief has the right amount of spookieness for middle-grade, and I can't imagine anyone not loving it! As I stepped into the pages, it was like I'd turned back the clock and remembered my middle-grade years. What a beautiful story! I highly recommend it!
