Four Aunties and a Wedding by Jesse Q. Sutanto continues the hilarity and drama of Dial A for Aunties. This time, Meddelin and Nathan's Oxford wedding is infiltrated by fake vendors intending to do someone harm. The aunties are on the case, determined to save the wedding and stop the baddies while wearing their fluorescent purple outfits. There will be kidnapping, accidental drugging, aunties squabbling, and secrets uncovered. And maybe a wedding.

This book was just as fun as the first, and I'm glad I decided to pick it up soon after finishing Dial A for Aunties. Once again, this is more a comedy of errors than a mystery. There's a touch of mystery about who the baddies are and what their motive was, but that was reasonably easy to figure out.

I again really liked the family dynamics. Meddy still struggles with loving and appreciating her aunties and bring embarrassed by their over-the-top ways, while they continue to be both overbearing and absolutely supportive. I liked that Nathan's family acted as a bit of a foil, but I wish they had come around a bit more by the end.

I think there will be another book, or at least Sutanto left room for another book. I'm a bit scared to know what the aunties will get up to in the next one, but I'd be very happy to read it.

I love this family so much. I'm so excited that there will be a third one! The author set the ending up perfectly for the next book. I was laughing SO much at all of this ridiculousness. I can't wait to see what's next!

This book is hilarious! I love this family! I loved book one and I love this one just as much! The writing style is great. It's lighthearted even though it's a murder plot. Meddy and Nathan are getting married! Ma and the aunties are excited. They go all out on their outfits and they agree to hire someone else to handle the event.  Unfortunately, they hire a mob family who plans to assassinate a guest at the wedding. Meddy and her family spend her special day trying to find out who the target is and how they can stop it.

Better than Dial A for Aunties but just shy of being as good as Vera Wong’s Unsolicited Advice for Murderers. Very funny book. Several times found myself unable to contain my laughter. Hope Nathan and Meddy’s two families find a way to be a close family. Can’t wait to find out in the third bill coming out next year.

I like the antics but this one has too much secondhand embarrassment and caricature characterizations

I think the plot was too convoluted, I would've read the hell out of a low-stakes comedy of errors with the aunties blowing things out of proportion but as it is, I had a hard time suspending my disbelief to truly enjoy the ride.

Like magic, this book does exactly what Dial A For Aunties did without feeling like a repetitive bore. Perhaps even wilder than before, Meddy shines in her role as an anxious bride and her aunties steal the show once more, with kidnapping, drugs, and tai chi. Definitely tests the limits of your imagination but I couldn't stop laughing, and it feels nice to have a romcom where the comedy is actually hilarious. The book truly reads as an unapologetic love letter to Chinese-Indonesian culture and I'm all here for it. Loved it!

This was a fun followup to the first book, although not as good to me. The characters felt somehow more flat than they did in the first book, and Nathan continues to have no personality beyond loving Meddy but it was a silly goofy little read!
