this one’s hard bc i didn’t hate it by any means but have a hard time understanding why it was necessary. i think the biggest thing is that it feels LESS of a romance and more like a light hearted thriller? idk it’s pretty heard to define. another thing that stumped me is that Meddy really needs to grow or learn a different lesson, i feel like she lost all of what she learned about her expectations for her family and just thrust that on them again this time around. i’m also a little sad it took me awhile to get through it - the writing style didn’t seem to change thankfully but i think it’s really the plot that was underwhelming hopefully it’s just a sophomore slump situation because i loved the intention especially expressed in the author note but the execution was lacking - right themes, wrong story

Cute sequel to first book, but not nearly as great. This book was overall less believable, the aunties’ actions and behavior was just too fantastical at times. It also felt dragged out in certain points.

An enjoyable read, but I’m hoping the third book redeems the series a bit.

A fun time all around. I laughed way to much considering how much murder and kidnapping there is in this lmao
