Me metí en esto por la inercia de haber leído los tres primeros y porque este fue un regalo. A veces parece salvable, pero siempre se tira por el precipicio. Leer las últimas 200 páginas es tirar el tiempo (y eso he hecho).

Sensacional. Es el mejor de la saga, sin duda, y uno de los mejores libros de novela negra que he leído. No se puede leer de manera independiente al resto de la saga porque desvela hechos importantes de las entregas anteriores. Merece la pena leerse la saga para poder disfrutar de “Las madres”.

Adictivo, cuanto más lees más te engancha. Me hubiera gustado un final un poco más desarrollado, aunque supongo que da pie a una novela más.

A diferencia de los anteriores en la serie, en este no logró causarme el mismo enganche y efecto por diferentes razones. En cuanto a los personajes, ¿qué pasó con ellos? ¿Por qué los sentí tan planos sin ningún tipo de desarrollo? De igual forma, no fueron tan protagonistas como antes.
La historia se sintió redundante haciéndome recapitulaciones y mención de lo más a través de la mayoría de los capítulos. El único detalle que destaco es la crítica social que se elabora a través del problema a resolver y las preguntas abiertas que dejaron al final.
Fuera de eso, espero el próximo libro a ver cómo concluye todo.

Unlike the previous ones in the series, this one failed to cause the same hook and effect on me for different reasons. As for the characters, what happened to them? Why did they feel so flat without any development? Likewise, they were not as protagonists as before.
The story felt redundant making me recap and mention of the same throughout most of the chapters. The only detail that I highlight is the social criticism that is developed through the problem to be solved and the open questions that were left at the end.
Other than that, I'm looking forward to the next book to see how it all concludes.
