This one is definitely not the easiest of Shakespeare's plays to follow.  There seem to be a lot of characters, but half of them are just the same characters, but in disguise.  Everyone is backstabbing everyone and trying to kill anyone they can to gain an upper hand or take over a kingdom.   A 1600s soap opera that is hard to follow and a bit boring until everyone starts stabbing or poisoning each other, but by that time, I'm not sure who we're even rooting for.   Maybe it will help to see it on stage and/or read it again, but that won't be happening anytime soon.  My least favorite of the Shakespeare I've read so far.

більш складна історія ніж Ромео і Джельєта, але далеко не такі класні враження як від Гамлета. Бісить те що ніхто ні з ким не може нормально поговорити, те що можна передягнутися і тебе рідний батько не пізнає і ще багато чого такого.

I have FINALLY finished this book- it has been the most tragic journey that has left me with the sense of catharsis so large i have a migraine and i need a sleep. Doing this for alevel has taught me a lot about endurance and perseverance but in all honesty this book was incredible- the psychological context and the constant questions i had throughout the book was enjoyable in a weird sense!!? The secondary plot was refreshing during the frustration and anger with Lear and added even more to the book. Even though i liked it i’m so glad i never have to read this book again!

I learned that screwed up families come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. And they have been around for hundreds of years. If you think your family is messed up, this book will give you a good dose of perspective.
