It seemed like it took us so long to complete King Lear. It wasn't my favorite and the Edgar/Edmund subplot didn't seem to add much to the story.

I've read this play a thousand time and it's never any less devastating.
An all-timer for sure. Every character was woven with such care into the plot. The different types of animosity shown between parallel brother and sister relationships—the brute, physicality of the former and mental tricks of the latter—resonated with me. Probably my favorite of Shakespeare’s works (so far!)
