I really enjoyed this! The vibe, the art, and the characters were great! I knew nothing about this going in and was surprised this also has disability rep.

Cast is such an adorable character and I’m always a sucker for stories centering protagonists that just want to make the world a better place. I love how her refusal to accept that they can’t save everyone inspires Philomena Clock to try the impossible. Ms. Clock is a total badass, too! I’m interested in where this story with Klaus and the bandits will go, too.

All in all, this also reminded me of how much I love Fullmetal Alchemist and I definitely think Cast, Eric, Alphonse and Winry would get along well!

Super high energy shonen manga starring a Black girl who's a badass engineer! A very strong start to hopefully a long lasting series! I really like Cast and she's a fantastic hero to follow.

Just cool - Black Girl Engineer lead, steampunk secret society, disability representation. Some action could have been smoother, but I am looking forward to more stories like this in the world.

The first book in a sci-fi manga series where a young girl finds herself as a sidekick to a legendary warrior, called a SMITH, which leads to one adventure after another.

I loooved that the main characters are black! This was a pretty good story. Who doesn't love an underdog story? Cast, the main character, is so fierce and smart, I just want her to take over the gritty steampunk world they live in. I hope this series continues, fingers crossed.

Entertaining and energetic, like a Shonen-esque, S.T.E.A.M.punk take on Witch Hat Atelier.
