I'm surprised how many people bash this book for being offensive to women and for supposedly teaching kids to lie and manipulate people. Here's what I have to say to that: it's just a silly little story. Get over it! Not every book has to have some earth-shattering moral. I mean, if we're judging all kids things by that standard, then Looney Tunes must be the anti-Christ of all that is supposed to be moral and proper. Some things are meant to be enjoyed for its silliness and absurdity, and this is one of them.
It took me like 15 minutes to complete this book. It was so short and also fun. I think the story was a little lame but for those times it might have been good. It is good now too. It was just maybe that I am an adult now and I find a few things silly that were mentioned in the book.
It was a cute romance though how he approached his love and tried to woo her with his intelligence but I just think she is a little stupid. I mean you have a pet so must know about those species right. You will get what I mean only once you read it.
Overall it was a fun read. Though I find it silly, it still made me laugh you know. That’s why I will recommend it.

A very cute story about an old geezer who tricks a middle aged woman into falling in love with him by using a series of larger and larger tortoises. A slight story but worth picking up.

Annok iplik menee Roald Dahlin kepeämpien huumoriteosten joukkoon. Tarina on yksinkertainen ja höpsö, mutta uskottavampi kuin mikään muu aikaisemmin lukemani Dahlin lasten klassikko. Herra Hapuli asuu rouva Hopia yläkerrassa. Herra hapuli rakastaa kukkien hoitoa ja rouva Hopiaa, mutta ei saa kerrottua tunteistaan tälle. Rouva Hopia puolestaan rakastaa kilpikonnaansa Allua. Siitäpä herra Hapuli keksiikin mahtipontisen, mutta hyväntahtoisen juonen.
