Loved it, absolutely charming. The story of a man, the neighbor he has a crush on, and a whole bunch of turtles. Lost one star for having people going from barely having ever spoken to being engaged in about 60 seconds and that being portrayed as romantic. I know it's a kid's book but c'mon they could just agree to go out on a date, they don't have to commit to forever that fast. But overall, loved it.

Good but not great. Amusing but not laugh out loud funny. Like many Dahl books, the moral message is a bit...off...from anything that normal people would consider moral, but if you ignore that the book is all right.

I like Roald Dahl's books, even if they are always a tad disturbing. This book is no different. It has a creepiness to it, even though it is supposed to be a "sweet" love story. It is a cute story in a way, though, and I enjoyed it. It just has to be said that it's a tad creepy as well.

I'm very sorry to say that but I didn't like this book at all. The story was really horrible to be honest and so were the main characters. I'm surprised that "Esio trot" was written by the same author who wrote "The witches" or "Charlie and the chocolate factory". Well... I guess I have to read some other books of him now to leave this one bad impression behind me ;)

How have I never read this before? It's a lot of fun, as you'd expect, and teaches high value males how to attract hot women through the simple technique of buying hundreds of tortoises and constructing a simple device for exchanging them from an upper storey balcony. If Mr Hoppy were real, he would be running a dating strategy youtube channel and making a pile of cash.
