This book had me in the edge of my seat the entire time! It is so much more than just a teen romance! I highly recommend!

I really wanted to like this book. It was sweet and I liked the characters, I really saw them. But I just found the entire plot dragged on way too long. Slow burn for a disappointing ending with strings left untied.

Very good story, heartharming. The
bullying towards Eleanor, and the obscene notes towards her from Richie
are kinda messed up, I think they're handled in a very mature way. Although I wish it included things as an index, tw's, a list of resources for
domestic abuse
, and overall more work on the structure. This issues are probably edditiorial mistakes/faults, instead of actual content, so I enjoyed it a lot.

In summary,  Eleanor & Park is a heartwarming, yet mature and dark romantic artwork.

P. D. I read the Spanish Physical edition.

This book was really cute, but i think i might just be to old for it. The storyline felt a little unrealistic but I would probably have loved this when i was 11-ish. I loved the way Park described Eleanor, and the ending was really beautiful and sad, but other than that the characters where kinda flat. But the worst part about this book was definetly the microagressions, the book is filled with weird racist remarks, and the main character (who is korean) is called PARK?! Like???? Im asuming it was to show how racist society was back then, but like the whole ninja thing and the random comment about the black guy?? If you want to write a character who struggels with race, you need to do some research, atleast enough to know you can’t call a korean guy Park.

Encontramos:
• bullying;
• baixa autoestima e autodepreciação de ambos (ela acha-se gorda e pouco atrativa e ele acha-se pouco desenvolvido e enfemininado);
• a falta de representatividade asiática nos média americanos (Bruce Lee era o único ícone sexy que conseguiam referir);
• microagressões racistas;

going into this book blindly, i thought that this book would be a cute, light romance. i was soooo wrong. this book was SO addicting like i could NOT put it down. this book taught me a lot…especially to never judge people because u litterally dont know their story. the way that it was written i felt such emotions for each character and became so attached to them. i also felt that this book had a lot of racism in it and i’m not sure if the author did that to show the racism in the past, or because of some other reason..jus confused ab that.

Even though I really didn’t like how the book ended, there was no other way it could’ve ended, I don’t think. I felt endlessly sorry for Eleanor. She was so relatable and so misunderstood and for Park to be taken from her when he was the only one who truly saw her was so unjust. This book highlights all the ways life is so unfair, especially to kids growing up in situations of poverty. It’s a story of young love, growing up, and overcoming social norms.
