Yikes. I remember loving Fangirl when I was younger which is the only reason I picked this up and Y I K E S. Completely baffled as to why the casual and constant micro aggressive (and sometimes not even micro) racism was deemed a necessary edition to this? For why Rowell???????????????? Why?????????

Such a great read that’s set in the 80s. Although I try to stay away from books that involve domestic violence, I feel like it painted a picture of what survivors and their children face without getting too heavy. The romantic storyline didn’t go as I hoped, but I feel like the writing was more believable than other YA.
