This is one of those books you want to throw at everyone you have ever met and will ever meet until everyone reads it.

TAKE THEM. TAKE ALL OF THE STARS.

Eleanor and Park isn't a book, it's an experience. I live and breathe it every single time I read it... which has been at least five or six times.

I wish I could eloquently put into words why I love this book like I do, but I think it's impossible. If you're a reader, you know certain books just speak to you in a way few others do. That was this book in a nutshell. I loved the characters, but more than that, I loved their love.

It's impossible to get through this entire book without thinking about your first love. The stomach-churning anxiety, the breathtaking, unfamiliar feeling of just being so ALIVE. As we get older, and all the responsibilities pile on, it's easy to forget what that felt like. We all look at teenagers and roll our eyes and think to ourselves that 'they just don't get it.' But... what if they do? What if we are the ones that got too jaded to believe that in a moment in time, love can save us?

This book is definitely not all rainbows and butterflies, but at it's core, it's so pure and beautiful that I have deemed it my favorite YA book ever. If you haven't read it, you need to, because it just might make you remember the hopeful person you once were... and if you're anything like me, you might want to be more like her again.

i’d been wanting to read this book for so long and i really did not expect my feelings.
this story. it was just — meh.
there were times when i was excited for things to progress but then the moments were just anticlimactic
not my favourite. ending was slightly disappointing. my feelings towards eleanor were always changing. i think i only liked her because i felt bad for her, but other than that she just didn’t sit well with me
overall, bland 2.5/5

I loved this book!

The way Love is presented in a small stroke on an arm or a hand placed on a back is so beautiful and pure. The way Eleanor and Park suffer through the weekend just to see each other again on Mondays.

This book depicts love so purely and beautifully, you remember how it was when you were a high schooler and in love.

Eleanor has been through A LOT however she was often unreasonable for me and just made everything complicated between the two simply for the sake of adding problems to her pile.

Park in a nice way showed us how hard it can be to choose between a reputation and own interests, stood up for what’s important to him and owned it.

Being a book based in the 80‘s there were always hints of racism sometimes in small sometimes in bigger forms. Ashtrays formed like a black person or being called the N word, people never quite knowing where Park is from, white people seen as superior.
Without pressing the issue heavily on the reader these few sentences about it here and there leave a mark but not on a heavily level.

The book itself is great but the end… what was that

This was truly an unexpected delight. This book was probably a little young for me and a bit cheesy, but I loved it so much I didn't care about any of that.

Eleanor & Park was a good read. i enjoyed the story. It brought back memories of my HS love. I had to deal with some of the same issues, Eleanor faced. Eventhough, I enjoyed the story, the ending seemed rushed and not complete. It left me unsatisfied.
