I didn't expect this series to take a dark turn, but the flashbacks to Loid's childhood were DARK. But the rest of the volume goes back to its usual slightly silly self and I loved it!

“I hated the enemy without knowing why. I picked up a gun without knowing why. I obeyed my country without knowing why.”

I want to start off by saying that this volume is heavier than it’s predecessors (CW: war, death, and child abuse).
When I began this volume — I didn’t expect to delve into Loid’s past…he’s always been such a secretive character (the man is a spy) so it was interesting (and equally heartbreaking) to see how this elusive character came to be...

The addition of Melinda Desmond also came as a surprise to me! I’m interested in seeing how Yor’s friendship with her progresses…♡
