I really liked how this book was character driven since it focuses on the two Will Graysons and their intertwined life. The book started out as if it was one story until there was a splitting part that changed the book. Suddenly there was two boys with two different lives dealing with their two different love problems. They were technically one until it split. “When things break, it's not the actual breaking that prevents them from getting back together again. It's because a little piece gets lost - the two remaining ends couldn't fit together even if they wanted to. The whole shape has changed.” this quote represents the two of them together but also their two separate love lives that they were dealing with. The idea of love was so different in each life that we learned about such new things and was explained how everyone had these different lives and “pieces” that either connected or would never fit again. I really enjoyed this book and I also really enjoy John Green so I was happy to read it.

witty & endearing, but reading it as an adult was fine. i really liked the diversity & complexity of characters here.
however, david levithan borderline romanticizes a school shooter in the making soooo that's not cool
