Light, Beautiful, Fun
This story collection was just what I needed after reading a fairly heavy series. The stories are very fun and often funny. The writing is so clever that I have a hard time believing it's translated from Polish, especially the math love poem.

When you read this book, you need to go in understanding a few things:
1. It was not originally in English So puns/jokes will not necessarily translate well, but the translator does give it a good go.
2. It was written in the 60s, so the humor is a little different from what more modern readers expect.
It feels like it was written in the 60s. It’s got that mid century feel.
It’s a lot of nonsense, like slapstick, but with words. I would have appreciated it as a teen when I was reading similar nonsense-like books for fun. They throw in math and science terms just for fun. Sometimes the writing gets a bit more detailed than needed, especially with nonsense words.
Get the printed copy. The occasional illustration accompanying the stories adds to the vibe.

Fantastic writing that jumps outside the SciFi genre into humorous twists and turns of an inverted ridiculous world where Robots live instead of humans making strange machines of all types.

An enjoyable book of short stories reminiscent of the likes of Pratchet and Douglas Adams. The Universe is vast and interesting, and the translation is supberb.
