Having grown up reading Roald Dahl, I wanted to reread books from my childhood - while also reading some of his other books I hadn't read.

This isn't one I've read before and I really enjoyed reading one of Dahl's more adult books. This book is worth a read just for the furniture dealer story, so funny!

Roald Dahl did not disappoint with these stories. Yes some of them are a little harder to get into than others but they all have their charm. This is story telling art. Making the mundane life events thrilling. This is a quick simple read and will give you a smile or two.

It was as pleasurable to read as "The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar". Even though some stories were hard to read up to the end, because of their content, it just added to the fun because the writing was amazing!

Roald Dahl is one of my favourites when it comes to short stories. My favourite would be 'Lamb to the slaughter.' These stories are good, but probably my least favourite. I've actually read these before.

Dahl mentions in the preface of this book that it's based on experiences he had with the real-life Claud. Basically, this book is about a series of get-rich-quick mishaps that Claud attempts, frequently with the assistance of a man named Gordan (presumably, Dahl). This book is entertaining and amusingly written, although the stories are not in chronological order, so it seems they jump around a little bit.

It gives a great picture of country life from that time. The stories are all fun with good endings.

As with his children's books (which I adore), Dahl is humorous, entertaining, and gross in this book he wrote for adults. I really enjoyed how each short story was about the same little village and cast of characters. It was a quick read and I enjoyed it.

Alright, nothing special. Luckily not as horrific as the last Dahl I read.

Loved this small book by Roal Dahl. Such a great collection of farm-themed stories, full of humour, with quirky and hilarious characters in it.
Enjoyed each piece. Well done Roald.
