From a young age Eleanor wanted to make a difference and she worked to accomplish that goal.
Nice illustrations. Wish more specific examples of her work had been presented in the text and not just in the afterward.

Lovely picture book biography about Eleanor Roosevelt. There are already a plethora of other bios about her, but I thought that this one did a good job of highlighting how/why she wanted to make a difference in the world and focusing on her as an individual rather than on her role as a First Lady. The back matter is also excellent, with a nice pictorial timeline (which is almost always easier for my younger students to understand) and great follow-up questions and activities for students to figure out their own passion. Would have been a 5, but the facial expressions in the illustrations were occasionally a little mismatched to the text so they felt at odds, but otherwise I thought it was great and will definitely be adding it to my school collection.

Thank you to Edelweiss for the advance copy to review.
